Job Purpose

The Site Operations Lead provides elevated operational and administrative support to the Customer Service Manager while continuing to perform Site Coordinator duties. This individual plays a key leadership role in ensuring congregate dining sites across the San Diego region operate with efficiency, excellence, and alignment to the Serving Seniors brand, whether in senior centers, recreation centers, or other community partner spaces.

The Site Operations Lead is obsessed with the client experience and committed to upholding high standards across all dining sites. They are responsible for administrative documentation, supporting progress toward County meal targets, mentoring peer Site Coordinators, helping identify new site locations, and improving day-to-day workflows. The Lead also serves as a liaison between sites and leadership, ensuring issues are resolved and communication flows smoothly across the department.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Oversight

  • Serve as a peer leader and point of contact for Site Coordinators
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and daily guidance to Site Coordinators
  • Promote a culture of excellence, hospitality, and consistency across all locations
  • Monitor program quality and site environment to ensure they reflect the Serving Seniors brand regardless of site location
  • Provide site coverage or backup when Site Coordinators are absent
  • Coordinate with the Customer Service Manager to identify and help launch new congregate dining sites
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist with conflict resolution when needed
  • Backfill for the Customer Service Manager during absences

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Track and reconcile daily and monthly meal counts from all congregate sites
  • Maintain and update client rosters, lunch records, and site activity calendars
  • Prepare and submit internal reports to support progress toward County meal allocation goals
  • Use Excel and other software to organize data, document trends, and support compliance
  • Coordinate schedules, site meetings, holiday coverage, and special events
  • Respond to internal emails and support departmental communication
  • Submit and track supply requests, schedule changes, and other admin forms
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the dining room and kitchen at assigned site
  • Ensure smooth delivery and distribution of meals, donations, and food service materials
  • Act as liaison with food vendors and delivery drivers
  • Accurately track seniors served and collect daily meal donations
  • Provide a welcoming, respectful dining environment for seniors, volunteers, and guests
  • Distribute monthly menus and support outreach efforts
  • Communicate regularly with the Customer Service Manager and central team
  • Uphold all agency policies and follow standard food safety and sanitation protocols
  • As a mandated reporter, report suspected elder abuse to Adult Protective Services

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, AA/AS degree highly desired
  • Experience as a Site Coordinator or similar program position strongly preferred
  • Experience working with older adults and in congregate meal settings preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)

Working Conditions

  • Onsite position with regular travel between dining sites in the San Diego region
  • Position requires standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working in food service settings
  • May be asked to step into additional coverage or coordination duties as needed

Pay: $22  hourly
