SUMMARY: Responsibility for the at-ready state of all equipment and supporting infrastructure for the Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company assets related to the production, Safety and Quality of the business focus. This role drives a culture of proactive maintenance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to support production reliability and cost efficiency
As the Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will maintain and track all assets within and around the site. You will schedule the workload for all Maintenance and coordinate with other departments to achieve completion of scheduled work. You will also plan, coordinate, track, and complete outside contract work with regards to the Maintenance department and affected areas. Will create training material specific to the technology, deploy training sessions and validate transfer of knowledge, within the maintenance department. Schedule work that needs to be completed during non-production hours and support complete preventive and predictive maintenance of all aspects of the production equipment. The position will also be responsible for supporting the parts inventory, and purchase orders to maintain the appropriate inventory and purchasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Maintain and administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Manage the work order process to ensure robust and thorough use of the system.
- Screen incoming work orders, define scope, and determine planning requirements
- Optimize maintenance plans for predictive, preventive, routine, and emergency work
- Coordinate with production and planning on downtime and prioritization
- Ensure all plant equipment is properly documented in CMMS with complete PMs
- Develop and maintain detailed and effective preventive maintenance procedures
- Plan, schedule, and oversee shutdown activities using continuous improvement methods (Plan-Do-Check-Act)
- Track maintenance KPIs and execute improvement plans
- Monitor asset lifecycle and recommend repair, replacement, or upgrades
- Improve equipment uptime through data-driven maintenance decisions
- Identify and eliminate waste in maintenance processes
- Standardize maintenance procedures across production lines
- Enforce all safety policies, including LOTO procedures
- Promote a safety-first culture throughout the maintenance team
- Support regulatory compliance and audit readiness (OSHA, environmental, quality)
- Support parts inventory and purchasing processes
- Collaborate with Parts Specialist on kitting and inventory optimization
- Monitor budgets, spending, and overtime
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in maintenance and utilities
- Coordinate and schedule third-party maintenance activities
- Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with standards
- Ensure contractors follow all site safety and operational procedures
- Assist with capital project planning and execution
- Communicate maintenance performance to leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and operations
- Lead response efforts during equipment breakdowns or emergencies
- Develop and maintain emergency maintenance procedures
- Improve maintenance systems and monitor processes
- Support continuous improvement and best practice sharing
- Other tasks as assigned by Management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise maintenance technicians and specialists
- Train, coach, and mentor team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide structured feedback
- Identify skill gaps and implement technical training programs
- Develop succession plans and promote employee growth
COMPETENCIES: Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals. Utilize your skills in Power Transmission, welding, fabrication, air and fluid power and control, electrical and PLC programing and troubleshooting to enhance all aspects of production operations are properly maintained.

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, or five (5) years related work experience in management plus five (5) years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment, working with minimal supervision.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, compliance guidelines. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or members of the business community. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with ability to present information to management.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied both written and verbal format. Success to be measured against the metrics of Unscheduled Downtime, Equipment failures and Adherence to the production schedule.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office computer skills.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use proven leadership skills and work in a team environment to mentor and train other employees including the use of tests to determine the amount of training needed. Will follow all Company/safety policies and procedures.
Other Qualifications: 5 years industrial maintenance experience. Six Sigma training, ability to coach/mentor/develop team members. Continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing. Experience with CMMS systems.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Travel may be required locally to pick up parts or supplies.
