Description

Rapid City Orthodontics is seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team! We are a busy, patient-centered orthodontic practice dedicated to creating healthy, confident smiles while providing an exceptional experience for every patient and family we serve. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our doctor and clinical team while helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and excited about their orthodontic journey.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during patient appointments and procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols
  • Take digital X-rays, photographs, and intraoral scans
  • Place and remove orthodontic appliances as directed by the doctor
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectations
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
  • Ensure treatment areas remain clean, organized, and stocked
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and their families
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

  • Dental or orthodontic assisting experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited orthodontic assisting program preferred
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the orthodontic team
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Team members are expected to uphold the culture outlined in the SDB Handbook, with a focus on our core values and any additional responsibilities as defined
