Davis & Floyd is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Site Design Team in our Columbia, SC office. Since 1954, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of project manuals and oversee the bidding process through award
- Manage all aspects of site design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer systems, pump stations/force mains, erosion control, SWPPP, and technical reporting
- Prepare construction cost estimates and support project bidding and construction administration
- Provide technical guidance, problem-solving, and mentorship to engineers and technical staff
- Review and prepare site designs, drawings, and technical/front-end specifications
- Plan, coordinate, and manage daily project activities, schedules, budgets, and scope
- Conduct pre-construction meetings and oversee submittals, pay requests, change orders, and construction-phase activities
- Direct field efforts including surveys, testing, and construction engineering support
- Serve as a primary client contact, managing communication and expectations
- Ensure quality control and compliance with company standards and project requirements
- Support business development through client meetings, presentations, and public engagement
- Lead and facilitate meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Effectively resolve complex or sensitive issues both internally and externally
- Mentor and develop team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
- Professional Engineer (PE) is required
- Minimum of 10 years design experience in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations
- Experience managing a wide variety of site development projects, and working with clients
- Ability to manage and communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D, SEDCAD, and PCSWMM
