Description

The Health Information Management (HIM) Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and oversight of Health Information Management operations. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and availability of patient health information while maintaining compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements. The HIM Manager leads staff responsible for medical record management, release of information (ROI), document imaging, record completion, physician deficiency management, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. 

Requirements

 Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HIM experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience within HIM operations. 
  • Experience with acute care hospital HIM functions preferred. 
  • Experience managing ROI, document imaging, record completion, and compliance activities. 
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and managing operational performance. 

Required Certifications

  • One of the following certifications required: 
    • American Health Information Management Association Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) 
    • American Health Information Management Association Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
