Logistics/Production Coordinator
Description

Role Overview:

The Logistics/Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all material movement from the time it leaves the vendor to when it lands at a Tredit location. This position also oversees and facilitates the daily production schedule and works with sales in keeping priority customer orders on task. Other warehouse tasks may be assigned, which may vary to include some or all the following job responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Logistics

  • Tracks all shipments into each Tredit site.
  • Collects information or receive updates and accurately update the system to facilitate shipment visibility.
  • Communicates effectively via phone or email to provide order status, product and availability information and to resolve transportation and inventory issues with internal and external customers.
  • Confirms status of delivery and expected delivery dates and maintains systematic accuracy.
  • Monitors and documents expedite shipments; identifies action required to prevent future expedite needs. 
  • Investigates and performs root cause analysis on warehouse and transportation claims.

Production

  • Run the daily production meetings by reviewing the open order report to identify what can be built and what is on back order.
  • Seek sales desires on priority when inventory is not sufficient to cover all back orders.
  • Work with logistics on production schedule to meet scheduled truck runs.
  • Communicate with sales, logistics, shipping and receiving, warehouse management and operations on any unforeseen schedule change.

Material Handling

  • Be available to assist in warehouse functions as needed, including shipping and receiving.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

Key Performance Indicators:

  • 95% COT (Complete and On Time)
  • Maintains receiving/inbound schedule with 100% accuracy
  • Manage freight out expense with lowest cost option without sacrificing speed or quality

Required Education/Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma is required. Some college preferred.
  • Experience in logistics/acquisition/procurement is strongly preferred; Comprehensive knowledge of logistics policies and procedures including a thorough knowledge of US Customs laws and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of export/import compliance procedures, the rules and regulations of the US Government and their agencies.
  • Proficiency using a computer; strong proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite or related software, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge working with Syspro or similar ERP software is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of tire and wheel industry is desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to details and problem-solving skills.
  • Internal and external customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize efficiently.
  • Ability to work on assignments that are moderately difficult and use good judgment in dealing with competing priorities, limited resources, time pressure and resolving issues.

  • Ability to operate or learn all computer and associated software applications.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to sit and occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  
  • Must be able to frequently use hands and talk or hear.   
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 15 pounds at times.
  • The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
