Primary purpose: Take compiled list of products and quote for customers. Assist retail customers with projects, answer technical questions, and troubleshoot Door/Millwork issues.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Quoting: Review compiled product lists and develop accurate quotes tailored to each customer’s project needs.

Estimate Management: Create new estimates and revise existing ones as project scope or product selections change.

Sales Team Collaboration: Communicate with the sales team to ensure correct product selection and pricing on all quotes.

Vendor Coordination: Work with various vendors to source and price out products competitively.

Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain familiarity with finish materials and what it takes to produce them.

Customer & Contractor Relations: Interact with retail customers and subcontractors in a friendly, professional manner.

Technical Support: Answer technical questions and troubleshoot Door/Millwork issues for customers and the sales team.

Safety & Professionalism: Always work in a safe and professional manner, supporting a secure environment for staff and customers.

Policy Compliance: Follow all Franklin Building Supply policies and procedures.

Company Culture: Support Franklin’s vision, mission, and values, including safety, lean principles, and employees-first philosophy.

Training & Meetings: Participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Customer Experience: Maintain a customer service-oriented approach in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Home Construction Knowledge: Some understanding of the components associated with the structure of a home.

Time Management: Capable of managing time well enough to complete tasks quickly and productively.

Problem Recognition: Ability to recognize problems and assist in suggesting and executing solutions.

Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks, remain patient with distractions, and manage time effectively.

Adaptability: Willing to be versatile, understand direction, and follow through on assignments.

Math Proficiency: Ability to use simple math to calculate pricing and quantities accurately.

Employment Eligibility: Franklin Building Supply participates in E-Verify. All new hires must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be verified through the federal E-Verify system.


Strongly Preferred:

Finish Work Knowledge: Basic understanding of finish carpentry and millwork products.

Industry Experience: Past involvement in the building materials or construction industry.

Software Experience: Experience with point-of-sale (POS) or estimating software.
