Position: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Division: Recycling

Status: Full Time/Hourly Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Receive material, prep for production and shipping, and ship materials.

REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Manager

SUPERVISES: S & R 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dumping loads
  • Loading loose or packaged materials while ensuring quality standards
  • Identifying material for production or lab uses
  • Helping with other production related tasks
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Unloading customers
  • Planning placement for loads in advance
  • Oversees ground level inventory management
  • Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position
  • Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes




Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma preferred but not required
  • Good work record and practices
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Ability to properly drive and utilize a forklift
  • Ability to perform all physical labor tasks
  • Self-starter that takes initiative along with analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Accuracy with record keeping and good penmanship
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs
  • Exposure to weather conditions that may include extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, and loud noises
  • Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and 

thoroughness of the work assigned including to making general observations of the facility
