Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing daily warehouse operations, supervising warehouse personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating inbound and outbound freight activities. This role ensures the timely and accurate shipment of products, serves as the primary point of contact for freight carriers, and works closely with production and other departments to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare daily/weekly schedules and direct daily activities to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations.
· Supervise warehouse personnel, including training, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
· Oversee the receiving, storage, handling, inventory control, and shipment of all materials, products, and supplies.
· Ensure customer orders are processed, prepared, and shipped accurately and on time to meet delivery commitments.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with freight carriers and logistics providers to support efficient transportation operations.
· Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments, serving as the primary liaison between freight carriers, production, customer service, and other internal departments.
· Provide timely communication regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, estimated arrival times (ETAs), and any transportation-related delays or issues.
· Verify the accuracy and completeness of all shipping and receiving documentation, including pick tickets, Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, and other required records.
· Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, secured, labeled, tarped (when required), and prepared in accordance with transportation, safety, and customer requirements.
· Coordinate with production and planning teams to communicate shipment readiness, delivery expectations, and schedule changes.
· Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and routine inspections, and investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
· Investigate and resolve issues involving damaged, lost, delayed, or incorrect shipments and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
· Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
· Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse, shipping, receiving, and logistics activities.
· Perform Warehouse Operator duties as needed to support business operations.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
· Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
· Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control practices, transportation coordination, and freight management.
· Experience working with shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, pick tickets, and carrier paperwork.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred.
· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate between internal departments and external freight providers.
· Certified forklift operator or ability to obtain certification; knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
