Why we need you 

We are looking for a reliable, organized team member to help keep The Ground Market running smoothly behind the scenes. This position focuses on organizing inventory, stocking products, packing customer orders, and maintaining our store and freezer spaces so that customers and team members can easily access products. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work, takes pride in organization, and appreciates high-quality local food. 

Responsibilities 

• Organize and maintain The Ground Market retail space, walk-in coolers, and freezers 
• Restock shelves, displays, and market freezers to ensure products are properly rotated and presented 
• Pack customer and wholesale orders accurately and efficiently 
• Receive, organize, and put away incoming inventory 
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock items to management 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage, packing, and retail areas 
• Assist with inventory counts and product organization projects 
• Ensure products are labeled, stored, and handled according to company standards 
• Support the Market team with additional operational tasks as needed  

Qualifications 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative 
• Reliable and dependable with consistent attendance 
• Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments for short periods 
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively 
• Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed 
• Ability to work as part of a team while also completing tasks independently 
• Familiarity with local food systems, farming, or grocery operations is a plus but not required 

Schedule 

• Approximately 1 day per week 
• Flexible scheduling available 
• Workday may be scheduled on any day between Monday and Thursday based on candidate availability and business needs 

Working conditions: Position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Work will take place in retail, warehouse, cooler, and freezer environments. 

Comp: $18/hr 

Work Location: This position is based in Yamhill, OR. We ask that the person live within 30 minutes of Yamhill County if possible, or be willing to commute to Yamhill.
