Position Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for providing patient care services by performing CT exams (and x-rays, when needed) in a safe and productive manner that prioritizes patient safety and information security.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Demonstrates behaviors that reflect Tower’s core values of quality, safety, teamwork, accountability, integrity and respect.
- Warms up and calibrates CT and x-ray machines in the morning upon arrival to work and ensures that machines are in good working order.
- Ensures that CT and x-ray rooms are stocked with sufficient supplies for all exams scheduled for that day.
- Discusses procedures with patients and answers any questions patients may have.
- Performs CT exams in a safe manner, and in accordance with standard protocol and procedures.
- Assists in performing x-rays as needed.
- Manages patient schedules.
- Prepares work areas and materials as necessary for the completion of exams.
- Demonstrates ability to start I.V. and maintain access.
- Demonstrates knowledge of contrast limitations and exceptions.
- Consistently uses patient identifiers before performing an exam.
- Meets regulatory requirements for licensures/certification renewal and complies with Tower’s in-service training, attendance, punctuality, uniform, and dress code.
- Maintains utmost confidentiality in handling company and sensitive patient information, documents, and films/CDs. Meets all requirements for confidential information management, including access and distribution controls, password policies, HIPAA and CPI compliance, secure filing and disposal, and records retention and storage.
- Respects patient dignity.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- Education – Completion of ACR approved school for Radiologic Technology.
- Work Experience – one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Certifications and Licensures – Current CRT License, Current ARRT Certificate, and CT, RT (X-ray), current BLS provider card and Venipuncture Certificate.
- Medical – Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Equipment –CT and X-Ray equipment, computers.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of blood borne pathogen requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.

Physical Requirements and Exposures
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Hand and finger mobility for use of reaching and manipulating keyboards and other imaging equipment.
- Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Clear hearing and speaking voice sufficient for face-to-face and telephonic communications.
- Clear vision, with or without correction, for near and far work, sufficient to operate office and medical equipment. Color vision is required.
- Demonstrates, observes and complies with Tower safety, infection prevention and control policies/ procedures; use of required personal protective equipment.
- Exposure to potential hazards such as radiation emitting equipment, extreme heat or cold, chemicals, bio-hazard waste and sharp instruments.
- Noise level: typical of an office and medical clinic environment.
Additional Information
- Must be willing to work overtime when requested and authorized.
- Responsible for completion of continuing education credits sufficient to retain current licensure at own cost and on own time.
Salary Description
$45.00 - $55.00 per hour
