Job Title: Licensed Optician

Location: Okatie, SC

Status: Full-time 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Optician to join our team in Okatie, SC! As a Licensed Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyewear, as well as providing exceptional customer service. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on prescription and lifestyle 

• Provide education on lens options and product features 

• Ensure proper fit, adjustments, and comfort of eyewear 

• Educate patients on the care and maintenance of eyewear and contact lenses

• Accurately measure PD and segment heights 

• Measure eye parameters to ensure proper fit of eyewear

• Interpret and fulfill prescriptions provided by ophthalmologists and optometrists

• Verify lenses meet prescription requirements 

• Ensure accurate order entry and timely processing 

• Adjust and repair eyeglasses for optimal fit and function

• Assist with frame inventory, product selection, and merchandising 

• Maintain accurate records of orders, prescriptions, and inventory

• Ensure proper operation and care of optical equipment (e.g., lensometer)

• Process insurance claims to support timely reimbursement

• Receive and track lab orders 

• Communicate effectively with providers and staff 

• Support patient flow and office efficiency 

- Active South Carolina Optician License in good standing (required)

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) 

- At least two (2) years of optical experience (preferred) 

- ABO certification (preferred)

- Strong knowledge of eyewear products and trends

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
