About the Role:

As a Meat Clerk, you are the face of our Meat Department. You will craft exceptional experiences for our food-loving customers while learning the ins and outs of high-quality food preparation. 

Connecting with Customers

• Warmly greet and guide guests at the counter, on the sales floor, and over the phone.
• Share your growing product knowledge to help customers select the perfect cuts.
• Recommend delicious pairings like specialty sauces, rubs, and fresh herbs.
• Take custom special orders and help run exciting product demonstrations.

Crafting Quality Products

• Package, weigh, wrap, price, and beautifully merchandise our premium products.
• Dive into fun food production, including making burgers, chicken, sausage, and Smokehouse favorites.
• Step up to prepare special orders when our Meat Cutters or Leads are away.

Behind-the-Scenes Excellence

• Keep our inventory fresh by checking dates, rotating stock, and organizing coolers and freezers.
• Maintain an immaculate department by sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and sanitizing machinery.
• Safely operate tools (vacuum packers for minors; advanced slicers, saws, and grinders for ages 18+).
• Help welcome and train entry-level team members as they join the department.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly
• Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
• Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
• Must have weekend and holiday availability

Education & Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching
• Occasional instances of pushing and pulling carts or pallets of product
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds
• Ability to push/pull up to 150 lbs
