General Summary:

The NJIIS QI and Training Specialist is responsible for training new users, developing user training tools, overseeing user management needs and troubleshooting data collection problem areas for programs and partners. Supports stakeholders with ensuring accurate vaccine data entry, maintaining data quality, and complying with state immunization requirements. This individual performs quality checks of data sets and training on new components as assigned, while increasing The Cooperative’s capacity in promoting provider engagement, training, and consumer enrollment in NJIIS.

  

Essential Functions

Serve as a liaison for the NJIIS training program to professional community. * Engage pediatric clinical providers via informative lunch and learns. * Provide presentations to NJIIS stakeholders, such as school nurses and pediatric providers. * Represent NJIIS at community and professional events, such as conferences. * Promote the state-funded vaccine access program. * Inform Chief Clinical Officer of opportunities for further engagement and education. * Contribute to The Cooperative’s commitment to equity and continuous quality improvement that aligns with the agency’s mission, goals, and advancement. * Effectively cross-collaborate with agency staff, leaders, and board members to foster a comprehensive approach of information sharing, working committees, and collective representation. * Routinely disseminate relevant information, presentations, training, and learning opportunities for internal program and agency staff. * When applicable, will participate in relevant staff development opportunities (trainings, summits, conferences, etc.) to increase skill development, elevate program goals, and engage staff members with timely key learnings. * Responsible for training in data collection/analysis and report design for agency staff and board members. * Travels to off-site locations to collect data, provide training and support when necessary. * Develops, maintains and distributes training materials for proprietary systems. * Assist providers office staff with NJIIS access and usage support.  * Completes periodic progress reports to NJ DOH as required. * Performs Quality Assurance checks on data set on assigned schedule. * Trains users from all partner organizations on the function of data set and reports as required. * Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.  * Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Clinical Officer. 

Requirements
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Health educator experience strongly desired. 
  • Experience with electronic health records and medical data entry.
  • Knowledge of immunization schedules and vaccine documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs including Excel and Access.
  • Understanding of statistics. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing computer technology and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, car and current insurance policy.

  • Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
  • Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds

Work Environment:

Travels regularly to sites where traffic, weather, and other environmental concerns may be encountered; otherwise works in a climate-controlled professional office environment generally free from hazards and other adverse working conditions; position is eligible for full-time work from home status
