Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking to add talented, conscientious, and motivated Facilities & Events Staff to the team. The primary role of this position is to independently or collaboratively lead large-scale event setups and teardowns, manage daily building maintenance, handle exterior needs, and be a friendly, helpful presence. The facilities staff serves as one of the most important ambassadors for the Boulder JCC as they are interacting with and creating an inviting space for everyone who comes on site.


This position requires an individual with sharp problem-solving skills, an affinity to work with a high degree of independence, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with the rest of our close-knit team. Success in this role means being able to take a complex event plan and execute it efficiently and flawlessly from start to finish without needing direct supervision, while remaining highly aligned and communicative with your colleagues. In addition to having an uncompromising eye for detail and quality, success in this position depends on your welcoming disposition, proactive approach to projects, a desire and willingness to learn new maintenance skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Independently lead large-scale event setups and teardowns, ensuring strict attention to detail, efficiency, and layout quality
  • Perform general building maintenance, landscaping, and restocking of supplies while actively learning new technical maintenance skills
  • Interface with organizations using Boulder JCC space to assure appropriate plans for set-up and clean up are in place
  • Provide assistance to the Event and Rental Director and Facilities Manager leading up to and during public and private special events
  • Supervise caterers and other service staff, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to handle logistical adjustments as they arise
  • Collaborate closely and work hand-in-hand with the Facilities team and the rest of the BJCC staff to keep operations beautifully aligned
  • Serve as a point of contact and ensure a warm, welcoming, and helpful experience for community members, event rentals, and staff
  • Continually optimize processes, including identifying best practices, and working efficiently, and managing workflows autonomously

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a non-exempt position with a rate range of $19.24-$22.38 per hour commensurate with experience for up to 40 hours per week. Employee benefits currently include health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) with access to a health savings account (HSA) with generous employer contributions, a 403(b) retirement savings plan with immediate vesting and an employer match up to 4%, voluntary disability, life, and accident insurance, substantial staff discounts, as well as plentiful time off (vacation, sick, and holidays including a full week during Thanksgiving). A hiring Bonus of $1000 (pro-rated based on hours worked) with half paid out at 6 months and the remainder at 9 months.


The anticipated closing date for this role is July 9, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some experience and/or a strong desire to learn skills in general maintenance and landscaping
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation; welcoming, positive attitude and capacity to adapt
  • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Enjoy being helpful and supporting a wide variety of events
  • Clear, professional, and effective written and verbal communications
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position works a variety of hours. While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
