The focus of the Leasing Consultant is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent levels possible and maintaining a strong customer service/satisfaction philosophy.  You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident customer and service. 

No experience with property management or leasing? Job Description/Principal Duties and Responsibilities  

You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident care and service. You work alongside a team of leasing agents in the office and maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, and a maintenance supervisor on your property, all under the direction of your property/community manager. There, your contribution to the team is specifically:   

  • Establishment and implementation of standards for telephone and in-person sales skills to achieve qualified leases while maximizing the highest possible effective rent
  • Accurately in quoted pricing
  • Assess the effectiveness of concessions and advertising an make recommendations to the Community Manager
  • Thorough knowledge of the immediate market and all comparable properties
  • Implement corrective and proactive strategies to increase traffic
  • Ensure follow up on all prospects
  • Review and analyze traffic results
  • Ensure all necessary application paperwork is obtained from prospects and review leases for accuracy
  • Ensure move-in packages are completed and distributed 
  • Inspect apartments are move in ready  
  • Maintain effective and aggressive lease renewal program
  • Provide information to prospects via telephone and personal visits
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Collect money (deposits, rents, etc.)
  • Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures
  • Other duties as delegated

Knowledge of and adherence to the following:

  • Fair Housing policies and procedures
  • ADA policies and procedures 

Education

  • Two or four-year college degree preferred 
  • Industry and related continuing education
  • High School graduate or equivalent 

Experience

  • 1-3 years multi-family property management. 
  • Strong marketing and sales background 
  • Proficiency in social media preferred
  • Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio)
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Supervision Received:

The Leasing Manager will report to the Community Manager and/or Assistant Manager. 

  

Supervision Exercised:

The Leasing Manager will supervise all Leasing Consultants employed by Fortis Property Management to work at their community.
