Tooling Maintenance Technician
Description

The Tooling Maintenance Technician is responsible for preparing, inspecting, and maintaining production

tooling to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations across both facility locations. This role plays a critical

part in tooling readiness, documentation, and small-scale component fabrication through CNC operation. A

proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and mechanical aptitude are essential

Requirements

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Tooling Preparation, Cleaning, maintaining, and Staging

· Tooling Inspection & Documentation Maintaining accurate tooling condition records and service

history logs.

· Operate CNC machinery to manufacture or modify components such as face plates, connector

plates, and other tooling-related items as needed.

· Collaboration & Support with production

· Perform routine audits of tooling setups to ensure alignment with production standards.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

· Experience in plastic extrusion tooling

· Familiarity with die/sizer setups

· Proficient in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

· Experience with ERP or tooling management software.

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation

· Proficient in reading blueprints, setup sheets, and mechanical drawings

· Effective communication and teamwork skills.

· Basic computer skills.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT (TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION PREFERRED) 

· 2+ YEARS IN TOOLING, MAINTENANCE, OR CNC MACHINING ROLE (EXTRUSION OR PLASTICS INDUSTRY PREFERRED) 

· PROFICIENT IN READING BLUEPRINTS, SETUP SHEETS, AND MECHANICAL DRAWINGS 

· BASIC TO INTERMEDIATE CNC MILLING MACHINE EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED) 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a shop-floor environment
