Description
As a Project Maintenance Mechanic for Tangent, you will be a key part of our engineering project team tasked with the installation and improvement of new and existing machines throughout our Aurora, IL locations.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, preventive, and ongoing maintenance for new and existing production lines, including electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Install components such as motors and motor drives, pumps, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions, and make adjustments while keeping in mind quality, tolerances, and order of operations.
- Work from schedules, work orders, manuals, blueprints, charts, and instructions.
- Use precision measuring devices (multimeters, calipers, etc.).
- Maintain, repair, and install a wide variety of machine parts, components, and equipment utilized in production.
- Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Operate and maintain STIG, MIG, and TIG welding equipment for aluminum and other materials.
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift as needed for maintenance and project tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required skills/abilities
- Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of a safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely.
- Must have a solid work history showing the ability to maintain a good attendance record.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with STIG, MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding required.
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift required.
- Plastic extrusion experience is a plus.
Education and experience
- At least 3 years of experience in machine maintenance positions.
physical requirements
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
