Program Manager
Youth Development Program
Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
$40,000-$50,000/Year
Schedule: Determined on a case-by-case basis; Some evening hours
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Oversees the Youth Development Program and provides supervision to program staff. Implements contracted services to eligible youth 14-24 years of age.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directs daily activities of the Youth Development Program
2. Identifies and secures essential operational funding.
3. Facilitates the writing of and development of contracts for provided services.
4. Supervises program staff within scope of agency personnel practices. Assists with hiring, approves vacation and sick time, and provides ongoing evaluation
5. Monitors and evaluates programming outcomes
6. Receives incoming referrals, assign to staff, and serves for potential contracted services
Mentoring
a) Process and match mentoring referrals with mentees
b) Provide mentoring services for youth and young adults facing barriers to success.
c) Plan and participate in meetings with mentees to occur twice a month.
d) Plan and participating in quarterly group mentoring activities
Academic Achievement
a) Assist participants in identifying their academic area of need and develop a plan to meet that need.
b) Schedule and maintain regular meetings with youth to reach identified academic goals.
c) When suitable, communicates regularly with participant’s school of record and teaching staff to plan for a successful
completion of the academic year and/or graduation.
d) Assist participants with activities that help prepare for and transition to post-secondary education and training.
e) Connections for/to dropout prevention, recovery services, and alternative secondary school options when appropriate.
Life Skills
a) Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide life skills for a successful transition to independent living.
b) Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips
Financial Literacy
a) Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide education on financial literacy
b) Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips
Entrepreneurship/Leadership
a) Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide insight into entrepreneurship and leadership
b) Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips
Payroll Processing
c) Complete documentation to enroll participant
d) Process youth’s timesheets
7. Provide all participants with referrals for additional services when a need has been identified.
8. When needed, Transport participants for program success.
9. Complete all necessary program documentation in a timely manner.
10. Maintain regular communication with PCJFS CCMEP case managers,
11. Attend PCJFS meetings as requested
12. Implements quality assurance activities according to agency procedures.
13. Develops and maintains ongoing collaboration with partner agencies.
14. Represents agency on service provider networks, coordinating bodies, and in the general community.
15. Conducts regular program team meetings.
16. Attends agency and other meetings as requested.
17. Operates within program budget and funding requirements.
18. Oversee program facilities and ensures facility safety and upkeep.
19. Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
20. Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience with a culturally diverse population required.
2. Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families is required.
3. Must have the ability to work as a team member, model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and manage conflicts.
4. Experience in effectively utilizing community resources required.
5. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
6. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back \ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years equivalent experience required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience in human/social services/family development required. Supervisory experience or independent experience managing, leading, directing, or coordinating groups required. Knowledge of Department of Labor programming is helpful
