The material handler position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse/yard. This position is responsible for maintaining the production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished products.
· Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or
containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
· Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
· Receive finished goods, inspect for damage, organize and accurately record inventory using production sheets or work tickets
· Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
· Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
· Operate industrial forklift and motorized pallet jacks in warehousing chain-link bales according to SKU numbers and material
type
· Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
· Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
· Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
· Pull and prepare rolled/bundled fence product and load fencing rolls onto a flatbed truck for customers’ orders and shipping
· Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
· Perform miscellaneous yard/warehouse duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
