RLM Underground was established in 2016 and specializes in underground and aerial telecom construction projects throughout the United States. RLM has rapidly grown at staggering rates, leading to the expansion of its construction and operating capabilities into a full-turnkey telecommunications contractor. 


Position Summary:

RLM Underground is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Fleet Management strategies and logistics of equipment/trucks/trailers, and ensuring that all employees and subcontractors are outfitted properly. The Fleet Manager must be experienced in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and general construction equipment knowledge. The goal is to ensure we are providing safe and reliable vehicles for long-distance travel. 


This is not a dispatching or logistics role.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics of equipment, vehicles, and trailers with Supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Manage all maintenance for vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Notify employees when vehicles, trailers, or equipment are due for maintenance.
  • Maintain downed vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitor all repairs, notifications to employees, and coordinate logistics.
  • Log new vehicles, repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Register all RLM vehicles and trailers with KDOR and the insurance company.
  • Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
  • General yard maintenance.
  • Maintain perimeter fence and secure holes when compromised.
  • Consolidate used or unused materials for recycling and storage.
  • Properly store all vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Receive deliveries for RLM and KFN.
  • Supervise and coordinate yard maintenance and repairs.


Job Type: Full Time

Salary: 65K – 75K or more, depending on experience

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will reside within daily driving distance from our Kansas City, KS office, 
  • Knowledge of and comfort handling construction equipment (telecom construction equipment preferred).
  • Telecommunications industry experience is a plus.
  • CDL license is required.
  • Must be able to pull, back up, and park a large equipment trailer 
  • Leadership Skills are important in this role.
  • Effective communication skills are a must.
