Slot Technician
Description

Summary

  • The Slot Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of slot machines. The Slot Technician performs machine installations, game conversion and machine relocations. The Slot Technician must also provide excellent customer service to all guests. 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair slot machines from various manufacturers.
  • Replace and/or repair damaged components such as monitors, printers, and bill acceptors.
  • Install approved software to replace revoked or obsolete software.
  • Perform machine installations, game conversions, and relocations as directed.
  • Safely secure slot machines to slot bases using hand tools.
  • Complete set-up parameters for new machines and/or game conversions.
  • Verify machine setup with Gaming Commission.
  • Maintain machines in good working condition by performing peripheral diagnostics and calibrations.
  • Clean dust and pollutants from machine fans and interior of slot machines.

If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.

Requirements

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment. 
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of casino related equipment, support equipment, new games, systems and modifications to existing equipment. 
  • Resolve problems beyond expectations without consulting a supervisor or escalates if needed.

Qualifications/Education/Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a slot technician or slot attendant. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from Augustine Gaming Commission. 
  • Strong English communication skills required to interact with guests, team members, and vendors.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
  • Exert up to 100lbs force occasionally, and/or 50lbs frequently, and/or 20lbs constantly. 
  • Good manual dexterity and good eye-hand-foot coordination. 
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and heavy operational equipment.
