The pay range for this position is $115,000 to $155,000 / year. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Summary

The Associate Director, Biosimilar Pricing, Analytics, and Strategy, is responsible for developing and executing end-to-end pricing strategies across the biosimilar portfolio, including launch price positioning, contracting frameworks, and ongoing price management across pharmacy and buy and bill channels. This position will report to the Head of the Biosimilar Business Unit and the individual will serve as the lead Pricing and Contracting cross-functional point of contact across the organization, while maintaining a deep understanding of various commercial and government contract strategies, government program compliance, gross-to-net and pricing evaluation models.


Essential Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop WAC and net price strategies at launch and lifecycle for each biosimilar asset.
  • Build pricing models, including channel specific models (Pharmacy/PBM vs Buy and Bill/ASP), model ASP impact scenarios and      articulate tradeoffs, and forecast modeling. 
  • Present pricing and strategy recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders to maximize patient access.
  • Serve as a commercial payor and government contracting expert to the organization on statutory pricing compliance, price transparency reporting, and GTN impacts that result from contracting. 
  • Partner with Finance on gross-to-net (GTN) budget assumptions, accrual calculations, and all gross-to-net matters
  • Responsible for oversight of all Government Pricing programs including calculation of statutory prices (ASP, AMP, BP, PHS, NFAMP, FSS), and compliance with Federal regulations and statutes.
  • Oversees implementation, administration, claim validation and payment of Payor and government agreements by the internal team and with a third-party vendor.
  • Partners closely with Legal to ensure contract language, agreement terms, and program compliance.
  • Serves as a primary liaison to the Pricing Compendia reporting any price or product updates to the marketplace. 
  • Monitor competitive price moves across reference product and competing biosimilars; recommend response strategies.
  • Maintains governance of a pricing repository for all product pricing and terms available to the distributors so Trade can seamlessly release product orders. 
  • Participates in and holds the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance oversight over the Pricing Committee. 
  • Develops and maintains departmental SOPs to ensure operational compliance with internal policies. 
  • Partners closely with External and Internal Audit teams to ensure control compliance. 
  • Manages third-party vendor relationships and reviews deliverables. 
  • Position to evolve into overseeing, developing, and managing a team that supports and operationalizes the Pricing and Contracting initiatives for the organization.

  • Advanced level of understanding of the US healthcare systems including organization, reimbursement, formulary strategy, decision making and emerging trends. 
  • Strong financial modeling skills; fluency in GTN and rebate structures. Hands-on experience with GPO contracting, PBM formulary strategy, and pay or negotiations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze/interpret contract language and identify risks to the company.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands with a high level of initiative and independence.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within areas such as Accounting, Commercial Analytics, Compliance, Finance, Government Affairs, IT, Legal, Market Access, and Trade.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • BA/BS in related field, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in the pharmaceutical industry; 5+ years in biosimilar or managed market leadership role strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in government pricing, commercial contracting, and gross-to-net support. Deep understanding of ASP/WAC mechanics, CMS pricing rules, 340B implications, Medicare Part B/D dynamics and buy-and-bill reimbursement strongly preferred.
