Description
- This position provides expert consultation, assessment, training, and performance enhancement services to military leaders and personnel in order to improve mission effectiveness, psychological resilience, cognitive performance, team dynamics, and organizational readiness. The Operational Psychologist applies behavioral science principles to optimize performance, mitigate operational risks, and enhance force resilience across diverse operational environments. Approximately 90% of effort is dedicated to operational support activities and 10% to clinical interventions.
Requirements
Education
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution.
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship or residency program.
Licensure
- Current, active, unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Experience
- Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting Department of Defense, Federal behavioral health, or comparable operational psychology environments.
- Experience supporting military operational units, personnel assessment and selection programs, leadership consultation, or specialized populations highly preferred.
- Experience in human performance optimization, resilience programs, executive coaching, and organizational consultation preferred.
Security Requirements
- Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance throughout employment.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior military service or direct support experience with Air Force, Special Operations, Mobility, or expeditionary units.
- Experience conducting command climate assessments and organizational diagnostics.
- Training or certification in executive coaching.
- Experience supporting SERE, personnel recovery, resilience enhancement, or specialized military selection programs.
- Overseas contractor experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense organizations.
Salary Description
$190,000–$200,000
