What You'll Do
As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality precision components while continuously improving processes and machining strategies.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate 3-axis CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers and turning centers
- Develop machining processes, tooling selections, setups, and part programs for custom projects
- Machine components to moderate tolerances (±0.005") while maintaining exceptional quality standards
- Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Manufacture custom precision components supporting large industrial repair projects
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, field service teams, and supervisors to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods
- Optimize CNC programs, tooling, and machining processes for quality and productivity improvements
- Set up and operate CNC boring mills, lathes, and machining centers
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Complete quality documentation and inspection records accurately
- Uphold and promote a culture where safety is always the highest priority
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2–3 years of CNC machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Experience operating CNC machining equipment and performing setups
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and machining practices
- Ability to inspect and verify dimensions including diameters, lengths, flatness, and straightness
- Basic understanding of GD&T and conversational programming
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman certification or 2-year Technical Degree
- Experience with Haas machining centers (vertical, horizontal, and/or turning)
- Experience with G&L boring mills
- Experience with G & M code programming
- CAM software experience, preferably Mastercam
- Familiarity with carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, and boring tooling
- Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Experience using Faro CMM or advanced metrology equipment
