POSITION SUMMARY

The Bridge Residential Counselor Supervisor provides leadership and oversees individual and educational residential counseling for the programs at The Crossing. The Residential Counselor Supervisor supports program participants’ stability and wellbeing while in the Bridge Transitional and Emergency Programs, and provides leadership and management of the Residential Counselor team.


The Supervisor works closely with peer leaders and the Director of Community Life to ensure continuity of programming for participants in the Bridge Programs. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Schedules and completes documentation of all weekly sessions of an assigned caseload of individuals and families in the Bridge Programs (Transitional and Emergency).
  • Facilitates assigned weekly education sessions.
  • Completes assigned assessments for individuals and families in the Bridge Programs (Transitional and Emergency).
  • Provides one-on-one milieu counseling as necessary in addition to assigned caseload.
  • Develops appropriate, measurable Stability Plans for assigned caseload.
  • Collaborates with Care Team and associated staff, providing strategy for participants’ stability. Follows-up on Information Reports for participants.
  • Maintains participant confidentiality in accordance with Denver Rescue Mission policy.
  • Makes referrals to appropriate internal and external resources to support participant stability goals.
  • Collaborates with case management to facilitate positive transitions to more stable housing.

Leadership and Supervision of Staff

  • Assists the Director with recruiting, interviewing, hiring; Supervises onboarding, training, resolving conflict, payroll, scheduling and time off to provide appropriate coverage, and performance management for Residential Counselors.
  • Provides supervision for Residential Counselors including documentation review, and managing caseload assignments, and capacities.
  • Provides feedback to the Director regarding opportunities for improvement in the Bridge Programs.
  • Works closely with other Managers and Supervisors to address programmatic or operational concerns.
  • Manages relationships with volunteers or community organizations that support Bridge Program activities. 
Requirements

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work or a helping field of study.
  • Prior experience required in programmatic residential settings serving individuals and families – preferably with populations who have experienced homelessness, addictive behavior and general family challenges.
  • Prior successful people and process management experience preferred.
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills required. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of hire (training provided).
  • Mandatory Reporter Training required within 30 days of hire (training provided). 
  • Must have a person-centered philosophy, take initiative, multi-task, and work with a diverse population.
  • Active Driver’s License and ability to meet DRM insurability standards, as a limited amount of work-related travel may be required.
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
