SUMMARY

  

The Overnight Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment where guests can relax and enjoy their stay with confidence. This role safeguards the resort's guests, employees, facilities, and assets by actively monitoring the property, responding to emergencies, and supporting overnight operations.


Scheduled primarily from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, five nights per week with scheduling flexibility based on operational needs, the Overnight Security Officer conducts routine patrols, secures resort buildings and facilities, responds to guest and employee concerns, and partners with other departments to ensure seamless overnight operations. This position plays an integral role in protecting the resort while delivering the exceptional service standards expected of a Forbes Five-Star luxury property.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  

· Conduct comprehensive patrols of the entire resort throughout the overnight shift to ensure a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for guests, employees, and resort assets. Identify and address potential safety hazards, unsecured areas, suspicious activity, or guests in unauthorized locations.

· Perform routine inspections of all public areas, guest pathways, parking areas, heart-of-house spaces, and resort facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational standards are maintained.

· Ensure all buildings, offices, amenities, and designated guest accommodations are properly secured after departmental operations conclude. Verify that doors, gates, and restricted access areas are locked and that unoccupied villas or facilities remain secure throughout the evening.

· Complete a detailed nightly security report documenting patrols conducted, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, guest interactions, security incidents, and the resolution or follow-up required for each item.

· Promptly communicate any maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, or operational issues requiring follow-up to the appropriate department through established reporting procedures.

· Respond professionally and efficiently to all guest and employee emergency calls, disturbances, medical incidents, and safety concerns while following established resort policies and emergency response procedures.

· Receive training and maintain proficiency in guest incident reporting, including proper documentation, investigation procedures, evidence gathering, witness interviews when appropriate, and timely completion of incident reports.

· Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property to deter unauthorized access, minimize risk, and provide assistance to guests and employees whenever needed.

· Cross-train and provide operational support for the Gatehouse Attendant position. Cover meal breaks and scheduled absences as assigned, ensuring all guests, visitors, vendors, and contractors entering or exiting the resort are properly greeted, verified, and documented in accordance with resort access procedures.

· Assist with Bell and Valet operations after the Bell/Valet team concludes service (typically 11:00 PM or earlier). Responsibilities include safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with guest arrivals and departures, supporting overnight check-ins, luggage assistance, and providing resort transportation services when requested.

· Assist with all Lost & Found inquiries and property by ensuring found items are properly documented, logged, securely stored, and returned to guests in accordance with resort policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.

· Work collaboratively with Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure overnight operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Forbes Five-Star service standards.

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

1. Customer service experience

2. Strong communication skills

3. Guard card, CPR/First Aid, TIPS training, Valid US driver's license with clean record

4. Ability to use Microsoft Suite and keyboard.


Desirable

1. High school degree or higher education

2. Previous Security experience in a luxury resort environment

3. Law enforcement experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property. 

2. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. 

3. Occasional need to stand for long periods of time. 

4. Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.

5. Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.

6. Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
