Description

As the Creative Lab Compounder, you are responsible for preparing samples for product development, formulation studies, and process reviews, ensuring the work is accurate, complete, and on-time. You will play a key role in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the overall goals of the Creative Lab.


Key Accountabilities 


Deliver Reliable Development Samples and Data 

Provide accurate, high-quality samples and reliable data that support formulation decisions, product development, and successful project outcomes. Ensure formula integrity, consistency, and documentation accuracy while minimizing rework and delays. Support data integrity by operating laboratory instruments and maintaining records that are complete, accurate, and traceable. 


Accelerate Product Development 

Support the speed and effectiveness of innovation efforts by anticipating needs, preparing materials and resources, and proactively removing obstacles that may delay project progress. Partner with Perfumers and cross-functional teams to ensure development activities move forward efficiently, priorities are supported, and projects progress from concept to commercialization in alignment with project timelines, helping ensure on-time delivery and minimal disruption.


Maintain Laboratory Readiness 

Create and sustain an organized, efficient, and well-maintained laboratory environment that enables productivity, quality, and responsiveness. Ensure materials, equipment, workspaces, and resources are available and maintained to support ongoing development activities in accordance with established quality, safety, and compliance requirements. This includes managing inventory levels, ordering and stocking materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring proper labeling and storage practices, supporting sample room inventory accuracy, and maintaining accurate documentation and records that support quality, safety, and compliance standards.


Contribute to Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, organization, safety, efficiency, and quality. Actively participate in problem-solving efforts, support implementation of approved improvements, and seek opportunities to increase knowledge and effectiveness. Embrace new tools, technologies, and ways of working that improve team performance and customer service.


Support Team Success and Capability

Requirements

Education 

High School Diploma or GED required. 


Experience 

1+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience through which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Demonstrates strong mathematical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to accurately compound formulas and maintain technical documentation. Effectively prioritizes work, manages multiple tasks, adapts to changing business needs, and applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support project success. Possesses basic computer proficiency and the ability to operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation while maintaining accurate records. Communicates effectively across teams and demonstrates a commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer service.


Physical and Sensory Demands / Environmental Conditions 

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, squat, twist, push, pull, carry materials throughout the workday, and lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. 

·  Ability to handle raw materials, including fragrance, flavor, and chemical ingredients, on a daily basis in a laboratory environment where exposure to these materials is expected. 

· Ability to use visual acuity for close detail work, color recognition, depth perception, and identifying product characteristics. 

· Ability to read, interpret, and complete work instructions, technical documentation, and laboratory records. 

· Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and business partners. 

· Regular use of computers, laboratory equipment, scales, testing instruments, and other laboratory tools. 

· Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and other safety equipment as required.
