2nd Shift Production Machine Operator + $1,000 Retention Bonus
Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To setup and operate machines based on specified target levels of throughput, yield, and rework by following all approved production and quality documentation. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all necessary supplies are continuously available on-hand, and the set-up of the work area is correct for production.  
  • Able to maintain quality standards including differentiating between products, colors and distinguishing features 
  • Perform basic mathematical functions accurately with minimal support 
  • Diagnose and resolve issues by identifying root causes and implementing solutions for mechanical and Automation equipment 
  • Utilize basic tools to make proper machine adjustments as needed to maintain operational efficiency 
  • Communicate effectively within the department and across other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely issue resolution. 
  • Ensure proper fill weights with Quality  
  • Ensure Production Associates on the machine/production line are performing job duties as assigned 
  • Verify that the correct packaging material is in use 
  • Correct all machine errors/stops as quickly as possible. 
  • Complete all required paperwork that applies to specific areas and products 
  • Palletize products appropriately 
  • Identify defective products 
  • Operate a pallet jack, pallet wrapper, and other required equipment 
  • Seek continuous improvement 
  • Other duties as assigned 



Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • No previous experience required
  • On the job training provided


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge gained through on the job training of company products, policies, and procedures
  • Skill in operating various equipment as needed to perform the job
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments
  • Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential
  • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication 
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers 
  • Must be able to reach, touch, grasp 
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time 
  • Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push 
  • Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor. 
  • Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products, which are fast-paced with exposure to moving machinery  
  • Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
