Tanner Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practicum Therapist to join our Behavioral Health Department. This role is designed for individuals currently pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). As a Practicum Therapist, you will gain hands-on experience providing therapeutic services to a diverse client population under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
The Behavioral Health Practicum Therapist will work directly with the Psychiatry Department within a multi-disciplinary team approach to provide therapeutic interventions for patients and families referred to the clinic for various mental health related issues. A successful candidate will demonstrate interest in working with and providing interventions to a variety of mental health concerns. Therapeutic interventions may be related to depression, anxiety, trauma, acceptance, and adjusting to significant life changes for individuals ranging from children, older teens, adults, and the elderly.
Under the supervision of licensed professionals, the Practicum Therapist will be responsible for providing high quality patient care, including assessment, psycho-diagnosis, treatment planning, providing therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. While the primary nature of treatment will be offered at the individual level additional treatment needs may include group and family therapy.
A successful candidate must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Must be able to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. Must exhibit a professional appearance. Must be at least 21 years of age, dependable and emotionally stable. Responsible for maintaining personal and professional growth and development.
Education: Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Social Work (MSW), Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
Experience: Previous experience in a mental health setting (internships, volunteer work, etc) is preferred.

Equipment Operated: Standard office and clinical equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, EKG, spirometry, POC equipment, etc.
Work Environment: Primarily medical offices. Regular contact with patients.
