The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality patient care under the direction of the supervising physician and in accordance with state and federal regulations. The NP performs patient assessments, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical conditions, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, develops treatment plans, prescribes medications, and promotes preventive healthcare. The NP works collaboratively with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and an outstanding patient experience. This will be a 3 day per week, 8 hour shift.
Clinical Responsibilities:
· Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
· Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
· Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
· Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress.
· Review and respond to patient messages, refill requests, laboratory results, and imaging reports in a timely manner.
· See a minimum of 12 patients per day
· Close charts within 24 hours
Operational Responsibilities:
· Review daily schedules and prepare for patient visits.
· Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient flow.
· Documentation meets all standards and policies. Documentation includes all findings; interventions and results.
· Appropriately codes charts.
· Assist in developing and implementing clinical workflows and best practices.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, Medicare, and regulatory requirements.
Licensure:
· Current Registered Nurse License in the State of CA
· Master’s Degree from an accredited NP Program
· National Certification as a NP or certification eligible
· Registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Registration must be obtained within the first six months of employment
· Current BCLD certification
· Telemedicine evaluations for common minor injuries and illnesses
Work Experience Requirements:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with patients
· Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary patient service
· EPIC knowledge preferred
