SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Facilities Technician Instructor is responsible for maintaining safe, secure, and clean facilities in compliance with established standards and requirements. This position will also ensure preventative and on-going maintenance, cleaning and janitorial of SRM buildings and properties. It facilitates the facilities technician vocational training program to offer optimal vocational training utilizing a “hands on training” approach to the students.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the facilities team to schedule, maintain and execute all cleaning/janitorial/custodian tasks.
  • Collaborates effectively with Vocational Training team.
  • Collaborates with Sr. Manager of Vocational Training to maintain budget and properly steward resources
  • Teaches the facilities Vocational Training Curriculum.
  • Works with vocational trainees to ensure acceptable quality of work. 
  • Completes and submits monthly reports as directed by supervisor 
  • Responds to emergency calls
  • In this role, you may be required to drive on behalf of Springs Rescue Mission, so a valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required. To ensure the safety of our employees and compliance with state and federal law, SRM utilizes ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring. This means that you may be required to have MVR report run at any time to ensure you have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record if utilized as driver.
  • Attends all required SRM meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • In this role, you may be required to drive on behalf of Springs Rescue Mission utilizing SRM company vehicle and/or your personal vehicle. In accordance with that, a valid driver’s license, current proof of insurance and/or clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years is required. To ensure the safety of our employees and compliance with state and federal law, SRM utilizes ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring where MVR reports may be run randomly to ensure you have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record if utilized as driver.
Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  •     2+ years’ experience in building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
  •     Forklift trainer certification preferred
  •     Highschool Diploma required
  •     Custodial/Janitorial trade certificates preferred 


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a constant witness. Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in  dealing with people including the homeless and faithfully upholds and exemplifies SRM’s Statement of Faith
  •     Able to physically fulfill all duties of the job.
  •    Competent in building maintenance and repair, general carpentry, general construction, electrical, plumbing, heating
  •     and HVAC
  •     Proficient in use of carpenter hand tools, electrical tools, electric snake, sewer machine
  •     Able to organize and prioritize work orders and standard maintenance functions
  •     Safety conscious with a strong knowledge of facility operation and general maintenance knowledge.
  •     Flexible, able to appropriately respond to emergencies and needs of SRM. May require working extra or odd hours.
  •     Able negotiator with good project management skills. 
  •     Good supervisory skills, able to properly train others, providing support and ensure quality service is provided while
  •      outcomes/objectives are met.
  •     Computer literate.
  •     Able to read, write and perform accurate mathematical computations.
  •     Current licenses required to operate vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and/or other equipment
  •     Valid Colorado driver’s license required


  • WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
  • Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%.
  • Typical office buildings and shelter environment. Also, will work outdoors with exposure to elements. 
  • Occasionally: sitting, stretching, climbing, work at high or elevated levels
  • Frequently: reaching, lifting, exposed to dust/odors/fumes, climbing stairs, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walking, talking, manual dexterity, operate vehicles/trucks/forklifts/other equipment
  • Continuously: standing, climbing, bending, carrying, kneeling, walking, adequate vision and hearing, routine interactions with homeless impoverished people in recovery and mentally ill individuals, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

 Hourly rate and benefits include the following:   $19.00-$20.00/hour (Depending on Experience)
