Position Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the company marketing, branding, merchandising, advertising, promotional programs, and customer engagement initiatives. This position develops and executes marketing strategies, manages departmental budgets, oversees marketing campaigns and promotions, and provides leadership to the Marketing Merchandiser & Coordinator and Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator roles while supporting store operations and strengthening the ABC brand.

Key Responsibilities – Marketing Strategy & Leadership

· Develop and implement annual marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives aligned with company goals.

· Establish departmental priorities, project timelines, and performance objectives.

· Lead, coach, and support the Marketing Merchandiser & Coordinator and Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator positions.

· Direct departmental workflow, project prioritization, and resource allocation.

· Evaluate marketing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities – Marketing Programs & Promotions

· Oversee retail and commercial marketing programs, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.

· Direct the development and execution of promotional campaigns across print, digital, and in-store channels.

· Oversee employee appreciation events, customer events, sponsorships, donations, and community involvement programs.

· Guide product selection and promotional strategies in partnership with product and pricing teams.

· Ensure marketing programs support company objectives, customer needs, and sales growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities – Merchandising & Store Marketing

· Oversee store planograms, merchandising standards, retail displays, shelving programs, and promotional assets. Monitor and evaluate merchandising standards and execution across store locations.

· Provide direction for seasonal merchandising initiatives.

· Ensure merchandising programs and store marketing materials align with company branding standards.

· Support store groups in developing effective local marketing and merchandising solutions.

· Monitor merchandising effectiveness and improve customer experience and product presentation.

Key Responsibilities – Advertising, Branding & Digital Marketing

· Oversee digital marketing initiatives including B2B, B2C, social media, digital advertising, website promotions, and customer communications.

· Direct the development of marketing collateral, retail flyers, signage, publications, and creative campaigns.

· Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all customer-facing and internal communications.

· Review and approve marketing materials, creative assets, promotions, and advertising campaigns.

· Oversee promotional merchandise and marketing materials inventory.

Key Responsibilities – Budgeting, Research & Analytics

· Assist in establishing and managing the annual marketing budget.

· Monitor marketing expenditures and ensure responsible allocation of resources.

· Lead marketing research related to customer behavior, market trends, and promotional effectiveness.

· Analyze campaign performance, sales results, customer feedback, and marketing initiatives.

· Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership regarding marketing performance, budge utilization, and future initiatives.

Team

· Support the development, coaching, and performance of marketing team members.

· Fully support store groups in their marketing and merchandising efforts.

· Collaborate effectively with product, purchasing, sales, operations, and store leadership teams.

· Respond promptly and communicate effectively with internal departments and store personnel.

· Contribute to making ABC a Great Place to Work through positive leadership and employee development.

· Participate in leadership meetings and provide updates on priorities, projects, and results.

Qualifications

· Strong knowledge of marketing strategy, advertising, merchandising, branding, and customer engagement.

· Experience with marketing research, campaign development, budgeting, and project management.

· Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

· Financial planning, analytical, and reporting experience.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional projects.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing-related software applications.

· Self-motivated, strategic thinker committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
