SMG seeks an HSE Advisor - Owner's Rep in Indianapolis, Indiana. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Saturday, 60 hours a week.
The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site HSE support and oversight for contractors performing construction and operational work.
- Conduct safety observations and develop detailed reports for project stakeholders on a weekly, monthly, or as-requested basis.
- Perform and document contractor Performance Evaluations to verify compliance with corporate HSE management systems, safety standards, project playbooks, and project-specific safety plans.
- Evaluate contractor processes, training programs, and HSE plans to ensure effective implementation and execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison between project teams and contractor organizations regarding field safety activities and compliance expectations.
- Participate in contractor HSE pre-planning meetings to identify risks and establish appropriate controls before work begins.
- Support and participate in contractor incident and event investigations, including identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Provide technical interpretation and guidance on OSHA regulations and applicable consensus standards for construction and general industry environments.
- Promote a strong safety culture through proactive engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives in the field.
- Minimum 5+ years of EHS/HSE experience
- OSHA 30 Hour
- Degree in safety preferred
- Pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Experience in safety management programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Effective presentation and communication skills
