Description

Skills of Central Pa is currently hiring for a Full-time Team Leader of Employment Services and Career Development based in Lock Haven, Pa! The Team Leader will negotiate, establish, and secure employment placement from businesses in the community for the people supported in Employment Services. This position will work primarily day to evening Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities.


CAREER DEVELOPER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervises team of employment training professionals and employment training specialists.

2. Supports the Employment Training Professionals and Specialists as needed.

3. Serves as back-up to program manager for the Time and Labor system, HER, CWDS and EIM plus related needs to include incident management.

4. Ensures billing information is accurate and complete for Pre-ET’s services.

5. Monitors work schedules to include call offs and PTO approvals in conjunction with manager

6. Establishes relationships with business, industry and schools in the community to promote community-based integrated employment.

7. Calls on prospects to explain features and advantages of the Skills Employment Services program.

8. Develops and secures placement for the people we support in Employment Services.

9. Negotiates and secures employer agreements.

10. Completes job screenings and Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre ETs); obtains career assessment sites.

11. Assists in the development and implementation of profiles and person-centered plans on referrals with input from all parties involved.

12. Develops and maintains employer relationships prior to, during, and after placement.

13. Analyzes the labor outsourcing needs of businesses in the community.

14. Develops and maintains records and files and keeps record of contacts, visits, presentations, and other placement activities as required.

15. Communicates all new employment/business opportunities, comments, and leads as soon as possible.

16. Joins and participates in business and industry organizations, as approved by the Manager, which serve as networking venues.

17. Involved in assigning Employment Training Professionals and Specialists for providing direct trainings, community-based job tryouts and related pre-employment (job) activities.

18. Assists the program manager with program monitoring per policy.

19. In conjunction with the program manager, develop and maintain good working relationships with local business, funding sources (OVR, OPD, OMH, etc.), Supports Coordination and AE staff, school districts, corporate staff and all other pertinent stakeholders.

20. Oversees the daily operations of the department in the absence of the program manager and in partnership with the Regional Vice President.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Associates degree, preferably in rehabilitation, business, marketing or related field


EXPERIENCE

Minimum of three years’ experience in supporting people with disabilities


CERTIFICATION

Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) certification required


SPECIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of the human services industry and vocational and employment services

• Knowledge of disabilities and special needs populations

• Ability to learn company software packages and be computer literate

• Knowledge of traditional and non-traditional sales principles, practices, and techniques
