The Cooper Courtesy Driver plays an essential role in enhancing our overall patient experience by driving patients around our campus, as well as delivering mail and supplies in our custom designed golf cart.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Courtesy Driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and visitors as they enter in a polite, prompt and helpful manner.
• Transports patients and teammates throughout campus.
• Communicates client needs to clinical staff upon arrival to the designated area.
• Takes initiative to ensure that patient areas are maintained, snack area is stocked and that any needs throughout the clinic are promptly taken care of.
• Delivers lab specimens, mail and other items on campus.
• Handles patient concerns in a helpful and objective manner; notifies supervisor as needed.
• Ensures that the cart is kept clean and dusted.
• Schedule regular washings and contact supervisor if maintenance issues arise.
• Helps with inventory control for snack items.
• Notifies employees upon receipt of inbound deliveries or has the delivery made to the Mail Room as is appropriate.
• Takes initiative to assist as needed.
• Provides ideas and participates in the implementation of such ideas to improve quality and/or customer satisfaction, reduce costs, or improve the work environment.
• Maintains a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with internal and external clients.
• Ensures client comfort, safety and privacy at all times.
• Maintains a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal Courtesy Driver candidate should possess:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• A clean driving record and valid Texas Driver's license
• Exceptional in-person customer service experience
• Ability to work in extreme conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, and varying outside weather conditions
• Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, and climb stairs
• Ability to lift up and occasionally move up to 50 pounds
• Previous knowledge of a multi-line phone system
• Exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
• Must be flexible and adaptable as each day may not look like the previous
• Ability to work effectively and consistently with limited direct supervision
• Ability to communicate well with staff, physicians, and general public
