Qualified Professional / Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (QP/IID)
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Are you a dedicated human services professional looking for a clinical leadership role where you can actually make a measurable difference—rather than getting buried under an impossible caseload?

NOVA Behavioral Health is seeking an impactful Qualified Professional (QP/IID) to manage an exceptionally balanced, highly manageable caseload of just two assigned ICF/IID group homes serving up to 12 total consumers

In this vital role, you will provide the overarching clinical, operational, and regulatory oversight for your assigned homes. You will report directly to the Program Director and provide direct supervision and coaching to the Residential Service Supervisor (RSS). If you are passionate about championing resident rights, driving continuous "active treatment," and leading a team toward continuous survey readiness, we want to hear from you.

Why Join NOVA?

  • Manageable Ratio: Supervise only 2 homes and a maximum of 12 residents, allowing you the time to deliver truly high-quality, person-centered advocacy.
  • True Leadership Track: Direct supervisory authority over your Residential Service Supervisor to help shape house culture and staff performance.
  • Clinical Presence: A balanced schedule split between administrative clinical documentation and meaningful, on-site coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consumer Advocacy & Active Treatment: Serve as the primary advocate for assigned consumers; develop, monitor, and revise all individualized assessments, plans, and active treatment programs to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluations to the Residential Service Supervisor (RSS); consult on personnel decisions and promote a professional team culture.
  • On-Site Leadership: Maintain a consistent, active presence in your assigned homes, spending a minimum of eight (8) hours per week in each residence to monitor safety, cleanliness, and program implementation.
  • Compliance & Survey Readiness: Maintain continuous compliance with all CMS, NCDHHS, and ICF/IID requirements; confidently lead regulatory surveys and inspections, remaining present on-site during audits.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary liaison between the agency and the consumers' parents, guardians, legal representatives, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Administrative Operations: Coordinate and chair annual/quarterly interdisciplinary team meetings, conduct monthly staff meetings, complete timely state reporting (including NCSNAP), and serve on the Administrator-On-Call (AOC) rotation.
Requirements

Candidates must strictly meet the North Carolina DHHS requirements for a Qualified Professional (QP) within the MH/DD/SAS system of care, falling into one of the following categories:

  • Master’s Degree (Human Services Field): Graduation from an accredited college/university plus one (1) year of full-time supervised experience working with the IDD population.
