ACCESS is seeking an exceptional high school teacher who believes students with learning differences can achieve extraordinary things when instruction is designed around their individual strengths.

In this role, you will lead a supportive high school classroom, provide engaging and individualized instruction, and work alongside a teaching assistant and a multidisciplinary team. What You’ll Do

  • Design and deliver engaging, multisensory instruction tailored to individual learning needs
  • Provide high school-level academic instruction, including mathematics
  • Adapt lessons and instructional materials to support different learning styles and abilities
  • Use student data, assessments, and progress monitoring to guide instruction
  • Develop and implement individualized education and behavior-support plans
  • Lead and mentor a teaching assistant assigned to the classroom
  • Collaborate with therapists, families, school leadership, and support professionals
  • Maintain an organized, structured, and visually supportive classroom
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and caregivers
  • Integrate technology and creative teaching strategies into daily instruction



Requirements

  

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current Arkansas teaching certification in Special Education preferred
  • Math certification or demonstrated experience teaching high school mathematics will also be considered
  • Experience working with students with learning differences, disabilities, or individualized learning needs strongly preferred
  • Ability to interpret student data and academic assessments
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized education or behavior-support plans
  • Strong classroom-management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary professionals
  • A genuine commitment to helping students build skills, confidence, and independence

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimal travel is required for this position; this travel may include transporting students/clients.
  • ACCESS drivers are required to maintain a valid Driver’s License, current auto liability insurance and registration, a clean driving record, and physical ability to drive to local locations throughout Arkansas.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
