Description

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that are required by Federal, State, and local guidelines. The minimum requirements for experience and education are:

  • Education equivalent to graduation from High School
  • Ability to provide two current acceptable and verifiable professional references
  • Previous Medical office experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of various medical Insurances preferred

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work a full-time flexible schedule 
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and      references)
  • To comply with organizational behavioral standards 

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and greet clients/patients/visitors to ASCI in a helpful and friendly manner, with a cheerful and warm attitude. Determine the purpose of the visit and directs the clients/patients/visitors appropriately.
  • When checking-in patients, carefully screen for any updated patient information and existing balances noted in the computer, and provides all information required to assist the patient in being prepared at the time of the visit.      
  • Provide consultation planning services with the patient as requested (assisting clients in making a list of questions for medical oncology consultations).
  • Review educational material with the patients as directed.
  • Support patients' treatment decisions, no matter what they might be.
  • Assist patients and referring providers with scheduling initial consultations.
  • Assist new patients with appropriate paperwork.
  • Processing new Patients through verification of personal and insurance information being accurate. 
  • Prior authorization Management, verifying and submitting when required for procedures and/or follow up visits. 
  • Verify insurance through insurance portals to confirm eligibility and benefits.
  • Communicate with Physicians and/or APP’s regarding new patient referrals. care and scheduling needs
  • Ensure that pertinent medical records are available at the first appointment.
  • Work with auxiliary departments to ensure patient appointments are coordinated promptly and conveniently.
  • Prepare routine departmental correspondence to referring agencies and primary care providers.
  • Answer basic appointment questions so patients and their families can understand the procedure.
  • Collect insurance co-pay and copy insurance RX cards, collect money, and issue receipts whenever applicable.
  • Perform frequent lobby checks to keep patients informed of appointments status
  • Process required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Schedule patients in compliance with providers scheduling guidelines
  • Checking voicemails and returning patients phone calls within the ASCI policies. 
  • Update patient's chart information as needed.
  • Balance collection ledger daily.
  • Attend scheduled department and staff clinical meetings.
  • Perform general office duties and day-to-day administrative functions, including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, transferring and data entry in an organized and neat manner.
  • Works collaboratively with all team members to work towards a common goal of excellent patient care.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the PM or Dermatology office Lead

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

  • Principles, practices and procedures of medical reception
  • HIPAA standards – able to maintain confidentiality and understand laws mandating patient information. 

Skills:

  • Basic computers knowledge      
  • Exhibit excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Work Independently 
  • Ability to work well under stressful conditions, with minimal supervision, while remaining calm with patients and other parties involved.

  • Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.

Salary Description
$19.00 - $26.75 / hour
