Description
The SME Management Analyst / Supply Systems Specialist will provide subject matter expertise in Coast Guard logistics data, supply management, Sector Allowancing, and supply systems support. This role requires advanced user-level proficiency with the Naval and Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS), as well as a strong understanding of Coast Guard supply and logistics management policies, procedures, management codes, allowance processes, configuration data, and material demand validation.
The successful candidate will support SFLC and Coast Guard stakeholders by analyzing supply data, resolving logistics and supply issues, validating material requirements, and supporting modernization efforts involving supply and finance system data.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide SME-level support for Coast Guard logistics data elements, supply management, and Sector Allowancing processes.
- Review and interpret inventory item management codes within NESSS.
- Analyze configuration data, item usage, and supply records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Coast Guard standards.
- Develop, review, update, and validate Sector allowance levels for material within NESSS.
- Identify terminal, obsolete, or excess material and recommend appropriate disposal actions.
- Validate Coast Guard material demand within NESSS to support operational readiness.
- Assess and recommend changes to Coast Guard Sector allowances based on operational requirements and data analysis.
- Collaborate with SFLC Asset Logistics Division and other Coast Guard personnel to resolve logistics, supply, and data-related issues.
- Request, review, and interpret SAS allowance reports to support allowance decisions and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to Coast Guard personnel on logistics data management, NESSS usage, and supply best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for resolving complex logistics and supply management challenges.
- Provide SME input on supply and finance system requirements for data system modernization projects.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Coast Guard logistics data, supply management, and Sector Allowancing.
- Advanced user-level proficiency with NESSS.
- Strong understanding of Coast Guard supply and logistics management policies and procedures.
- Experience interpreting management codes, supply data, configuration data, allowance levels, and material demand.
- Experience supporting logistics, supply, inventory, or material readiness functions.
- Ability to provide expert guidance to Government personnel and resolve complex supply system issues.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting SFLC, Coast Guard Asset Logistics Division, Coast Guard Sectors, or Coast Guard supply/logistics organizations.
- Experience with supply system modernization, finance system requirements, or logistics data quality improvement.
- Experience developing process documentation, desk guides, or training materials related to supply systems.
- Familiarity with Coast Guard material management, allowance development, inventory management, and disposal processes.
