POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Inadev is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands on experience in Python and React.js, combined with system design, architecture, and AWS cloud engineering expertise. This role requires ownership across the full solution lifecycle from high level architecture and design (HLD) through low level design (LLD), hands on development, deployment, and operational support in production environments.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using Python, React.js, and modern API frameworks.
- Build secure, scalable backend services, responsive user interfaces, and RESTful/event-driven APIs.
- Implement authentication, authorization, secure integration patterns, and OWASP-aligned coding practices.
- Develop clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in peer code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues across the full technology stack.
- Lead and contribute to system architecture and design activities, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), system diagrams, data flows, API contracts, and implementation approaches.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for scalability, resiliency, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Design, build, and support AWS cloud-native solutions leveraging services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities.
- Support performance tuning, capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud security controls.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement IAM, networking, and compliance requirements within a DevSecOps delivery model.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical planning, story estimation, and solution design discussions.
- Translate complex requirements into actionable development tasks and deliver technical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture artifacts.
- Serve as a technical partner to product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- This position is 100% remote for candidates outside the DC/MD/Northern Virginia area. Candidates local to the DC/MD/Northern Virginia area must be willing to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week) in Reston, VA, and at client sites throughout the DC/MD/Northern Virginia region, as needed.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited university.
- Must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Must possess hands-on experience developing full-stack, production-grade applications using Python (backend) and React.js (frontend).
- Must possess proven experience with system design, architecture, High-Level Design (HLD), and Low-Level Design (LLD).
- Must have strong experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
- Must possess experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Must possess experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Must possess experience with performance testing, load testing, and application optimization.
- Must have knowledge of resiliency patterns, including fault tolerance, retries, and circuit breakers.
- Must possess experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.
- Must possess experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum or Kanban) and using tools such as JIRA.
- Must have a strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, microservices architecture, and software testing strategies.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Active/Current DHS-USCIS Entry on Duty (EOD) Clearance/Investigation
- Experience with Java/Spring Boot
- AWS Certifications (Associate or Professional)
