The position does require Forklift certification. Work schedule will be traditional, Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p. Standard PPE is required along with H2S monitor.
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing, receiving, processing, issuing, kitting, labeling, and storing incoming stock.
- Maintaining clear records on all inventory and stock.
- Inspecting all stock for damages and keeping records of damages.
- Organizing the warehouse space.
- Preparing orders for shipment.
- Recording exact arrival and departure times for shipments.
- Operating stock management tools; for example, a forklift or dolly.
- Counting stock and keeping inventory records via SAP transactions
- Oversee Warehouse Operations
- UPS and Fed Ex Shipping
- Hazardous Material Shipping
Position Requirements
Basic/Required:
- Previous Warehouse experience
- SAP experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to meet physical standards for the role
- A forklift driver's certification
For a Warehouse Associate in a light industrial oil refinery environment, the physical requirements should reflect routine warehouse work while accounting for refinery safety expectations.
Basic Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier items with mechanical assistance.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (if certified/authorized).
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work platforms as needed.
- Ability to maintain balance and mobility when working on uneven surfaces, gratings, and warehouse floors.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms for material handling, packaging, and inventory activities.
- Ability to use hand tools, scanners, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, dust, and outdoor weather exposure.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection, and flame-resistant clothing.
- Ability to safely work around industrial equipment, vehicle traffic, and refinery operations while maintaining situational awareness.
- Ability to distinguish colors, warning signs, labels, gauges, and safety indicators when job duties require it.
- Ability to hear alarms, verbal instructions, radio communications, and emergency notifications.
- Ability to respond quickly and safely in emergency situations, including evacuation procedures.
- Ability to perform job duties in compliance with all refinery safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
Summary of Description:
Responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, inspecting, storing, locating and issuing job site material(s) and preparing required documentation and records.
Duties:
- General housekeeping and organization of materials.
- Check freight bills and purchase orders against physical shipment for numbers, damage, etc. If discrepancies occur, initiate new packing list. Offload or coordinate with crafts and quality control for controlled material.
- Follow procedures for damages, overages, shortages.
- Tag materials according to procedures and place material in proper designated area.
- Issue material per documented procedures and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Locate and prepare material for shipping and load (or coordinate loading) per procedures.
- May assist in training other warehouse personnel.
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), with additional specialized training or college course work and at least six (6) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Specific Skills:
- Proficient at keyboard use and working knowledge of computer operations required.
- Ability to enter data with accuracy and speed is essential.
- Forklift operation skills, required.
- Knowledge of material control procedures, techniques, systems., etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding.
- Ability to walk on even and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to wear PPE including fire retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, respirator.
- Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
- Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
- Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
- Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
- Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.
- Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
