Description
The Buyer executes all aspects of the supply chain function to include planning, buying, and expediting orders. Works closely with other departments within the company. Manages daily purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and branch-based personnel to establish and maintain purchase orders within the supplier base. Ensures items meet necessary delivery requirements for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate ability to perform closely within a team environment while possessing the ability to proceed independently when required with minimal supervision, even when multiple priorities exist.
- Interface with vendors/suppliers regarding discount policies, pricing, terms, etc. related to the purchase of inventory items.
- Maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information.
- Continually improve and develop efficient methods of purchasing. Maintain current ERP system as it pertains to purchasing, as well as other tools available such as E-Net, and other vendor data that must be updated continually.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize cost effectiveness.
- Expedite product when necessary to meet delivery requirements.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Two years of related experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- The essential functions of this role regularly require the employee to sit; use their hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects; and to speak and hear effectively. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
