Position Summary
The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field construction activities on fiber deployment projects throughout Wisconsin. This role will conduct site visits, monitor subcontractor performance, coordinate construction schedules, assist with splicing coordination, verify quality, ensure safety compliance, and provide regular updates to the Construction Manager.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field supporting multiple active projects across the state.
Responsibilities
• Perform regular field visits to active fiber construction projects throughout Wisconsin.
• Oversee subcontractor crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.
• Monitor production, quality, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate fiber splicing activities utilizing both subcontractor and internal resources.
• Identify field issues and work proactively with the Construction Manager to resolve them.
• Verify construction meets customer standards and company quality expectations.
• Conduct field inspections and document project progress through photos and reporting.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA, customer, and company safety requirements.
• Coordinate with permitting, engineering, splicing, and project management teams as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation, production reports, and field observations.
• Assist with project closeout activities when required.
• Build positive working relationships with customers, municipalities, utility representatives, and subcontractor partners.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience supporting OSP fiber construction projects.
• Working knowledge of aerial and underground fiber deployment.
• Understanding of fiber splicing practices and construction sequencing.
• Experience coordinating and overseeing subcontractors in the field.
• Ability to read construction prints, maps, and work packages.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout Wisconsin (80-90%).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting telecommunications or broadband deployment projects.
• Familiarity with customer quality standards and field inspections.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and mobile reporting applications.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Important Applicant Requirement
This position requires extensive travel throughout Wisconsin. Applicants must currently reside in Wisconsin. We are not considering applicants outside of Wisconsin for this role, and relocation assistance is not available.
