Job Type: Full Time

Shift: M-F, 7a – 4p some OT and occasional weekend work may be required

Compensation: $25 - $35/hour

Fleet Diesel Technician 


Position Summary 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and related equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. 


Fleet Diesel Technician Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on diesel equipment. 
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and aftertreatment system issues. 
  • Experienced with engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems. 
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools. 
  • Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed. 
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. 
  • Respond to road calls and emergency repairs as needed. 
  • Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to supervisor. 
  • Assist in maintaining parts inventory and shop tools. 

Fleet Diesel Technician Qualifications: 

Required 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Valid driver's license. 
  • Experience maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. 
  • Will need to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documents. 
  • Will need ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment. 

Preferred 

  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or ability to obtain one. 
  • Experience with medium- and heavy-duty trucks. 
  • Knowledge of Cummins and other diesel engine platforms.
  • Possess your own tools
