Description


Are you passionate about nutrition, preventive care, and making a difference in your community? Join Konza Prairie Community Health Center as a WIC / Clinical Dietitian and help improve the health of individuals and families through evidence-based nutrition care.


This position is a unique blend of 70% WIC services and 30% clinical nutrition, providing the opportunity to support patients across the lifespan through nutrition education, chronic disease management, breastfeeding support, and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).

What You'll Do

  • Provide individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) using evidence-based practices 
  • Assess nutritional status and develop personalized nutrition care plans 
  • Educate patients on nutrition and lifestyle changes to manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and high cholesterol 
  • Conduct WIC nutrition assessments, determine nutrition risk, and provide required nutrition education 
  • Provide high-risk WIC counseling and follow-up 
  • Promote and support breastfeeding through education and counseling 
  • Issue WIC food benefits according to program guidelines 
  • Screen for food insecurity and connect patients with community resources 
  • Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care 
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record 
  • Develop and present nutrition education classes and community outreach programs
Requirements
  1. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (or eligible) 
  2. Kansas Dietitian license (or eligible) 
  3. Valid driver's license 

Preferred

  1. One to two years of experience as a Registered Dietitian 
  2. Experience with WIC or community nutrition programs 
  3. Primary care or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience 
  4. Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) 
  5. CPR certification for Healthcare Providers 
  6. Bilingual (Spanish)
