Be part of something new! Healthy Living is opening a new store in Clifton Park and is seeking an experienced Assistant Center Store Manager – Wellness to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a brand-new store while supporting a dynamic department and creating an exceptional guest experience from day one.


Position Overview

The Assistant Center Store Manager – Wellness supports the daily operations of the Wellness department, including merchandising, inventory management, replenishment buying, and vendor relationships. Working closely with the Center Store Manager, this role helps lead and develop department staff through hiring, training, coaching, and ongoing support while maintaining high standards for product quality, presentation, and guest service.

The Assistant Center Store Manager utilizes Healthy Living's ordering systems, inventory tools, auto-order programs, cycle counts, and data reports to support accurate purchasing decisions, inventory control, and budget goals. This role also serves as a key partner to the Center Store Manager and Category Manager by providing insight into department operations, product performance, and guest feedback. Success in this role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering Healthy Living's signature "extra mile" hospitality.

 

Job Type: Assistant Department Manager

Hours: Full-Time, evenings, weekends, and holidays required 

Pay: We Value Experience - Our starting pay ranges from $20.00-$23.44/hour, with higher starting pay for candidates who bring relevant experience. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation of the Wellness department and maintain an organized, guest-ready sales floor.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop department staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Manage replenishment ordering, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, shrink, and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain merchandising standards, product presentation, pricing, and signage.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and provide product knowledge and recommendations.
  • Monitor product performance, sales trends, and inventory needs while communicating opportunities to the Category Manager.
  • Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve department and store goals.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and support new store initiatives.
Requirements


  • At least 2 years of management or progressive supervisory experience
  • At least 2 years of retail experience, preferably in grocery or natural foods
  • Previous buying, inventory management, or related experience
  • Experience working with local products is preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
