 HVAC Apprentice-  D&D Plumbing, Heating & AC | Midland, TX


D&D Plumbing, Heating & AC is seeking an HVAC Apprentice to assist our service and install teams while learning the trade from experienced technicians. This is an entry-level opportunity with a clear path to becoming a fully licensed HVAC technician. No prior HVAC experience is required — we provide the training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians with residential HVAC service, maintenance, and installation work
  • Load, unload, and organize materials, equipment, and tools at the job site
  • Assist with removal and installation of equipment, ductwork, and related components
  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC systems under supervision
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and protect the customer's home throughout the job
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers at all times
  • Keep the vehicle stocked, clean, and in safe working order
  • Accurately complete required documentation, checklists, and time records
  • Participate in company training classes and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a professional image by wearing company-approved uniforms
Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No prior HVAC experience required — willingness to learn is essential
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
  • Ability to use a computer tablet and smartphone, and read a map or follow GPS
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Neat, clean, professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations and function in a team environment
  • Must be able to register with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

Working Conditions

Regularly works in indoor and outdoor environments with extreme temperature variations. Climbing, heavy lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching are required. The job is physically demanding and includes standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects regularly, performing repetitive tasks, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and working in attics, crawl spaces, and tight or cramped spaces for long periods. Must have good visual acuity with normal peripheral vision and depth perception. Willing to work hours outside the normal schedule as needed.
