Louisiana Key Academy is a mission-driven, tuition-free public charter school specializing in evidence-based instruction for students with dyslexia. Staff receive ongoing training and support to help students succeed in a structured, supportive learning environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, student-centered Paraprofessional to support students in the classroom. This role combines classroom management, student guidance, and technology-based instruction through HoloTutor (An interactive, technology-based learning platform that provides students with guided, personalized instruction through immersive digital experiences). When serving as a substitute, the employee will facilitate HoloTutor instruction and support students in completing assigned learning activities while maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment.

Training related to dyslexia, our instructional model, classroom procedures, and HoloTutor will be provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment and reinforce school and classroom expectations.
  • Provide student guidance, redirection, and support to keep students engaged and on task.
  • Facilitate HoloTutor instruction and support students in accessing and completing assigned learning activities.
  • Monitor student progress and engagement during HoloTutor instruction and provide assistance as needed.
  • Provide basic technology support and troubleshoot common issues with HoloTutor and other instructional technology.
  • Follow assigned schedules, lesson plans, classroom routines, and procedures when serving as a substitute.
  • Supervise students and support classroom routines, transitions, and activities.
  • Communicate student needs, concerns, and relevant observations to teachers or school leadership.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required dyslexia, HoloTutor, and professional development training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday–Friday (7:40-3:40)

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience: Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred

Technology: Comfortable using computers, tablets, and web-based platforms; ability to learn and facilitate instruction through HoloTutor required
