Vertis Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at an assisted living and memory care community in Naples, Florida. Vertis Therapy is launching its therapy program at this community in mid-October, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of the program from the start. The Physical Therapy Assistant will provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, monitor resident progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized plans of care. The PTA will also communicate resident progress and any changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the care team as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
Treatment: Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist to help residents improve safety, functional mobility, strength, and independence.
Documentation: Complete timely and accurate documentation.
Collaboration: Communicate with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress, response to treatment, and any changes in functional status or needs.
Professional Development: Participate or lead team development meetings.
Wellness Programming: Regularly lead community wide wellness programs and events.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Valid Physical Therapist Assistant state license or license eligibility.
Skills: Proficient in implementing effective treatment plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist clients as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
Technology: Computer proficiency to document in electronic medical record platform.
